A call on Rep. Erik Paulsen to host in-person town hall meetings

The protest was organized by Indivisible CD3, the local incarnation of a group that bills itself on its website as “former congressional staffers [revealing] best practices for making Congress listen.” The aim of Saturday’s event, according to organizers, was to call attention to the group’s petition, which calls on Paulsen to hold quarterly, in-person town hall meetings with his
constituents.

“He is the lever that we have to exert any influence in Washington, so he needs to hear our voices,” said Jena Martin, co-chair of Indivisible CD3. “That’s the primary goal of our group, to reach him to represent us.”

My Conversation with Lebanese Filmmaker Mae Abdel Sater

Mae Abdel Sater BIO, Im a Beirut based Visual artist and Documentary maker.
I have a bachelor in Theatrical Cinematographic and Audiovisual Studies, from Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
I manifest “Beirut” and its hidden testimonies as the main inspiration to my canvas.
“Milk Tea” is my first official documentary, where i take you on a nostalgic journey down Beirut’s memory lane though a political artistic lens.
This documentary pays tribute to Beirut’s reminiscence. By taking a trip down
my family’s memory, guided by my father, who has always been the eyes I
see this city with. My story narrates the tales of three generations;
immigration to Brazil, the bitterness of the civil war and nowadays. These are
the stories that embroidered my memory of Beirut.
Milk Tea has won “Best Lebanese Short Film” award, In Lebanon’s International Short films festival, December 2016.
It has been screened 3 times in Beirut, twice in Denmark and it had one very special screening in Cairo last January.
I’m preparing a new documentary in Egypt, i’m still in the research phase. Egypt is such an inspiring place for filmmakers, its so rich and diverse, and this is why i keep on coming back there whenever i need inspiration.

My Conversation with Immigration Lawyer Bruce Nestor, Muslim Ban, the legal and political ramifications !!

Donald Trump and General el-Sisi brought the worst and best out of their people. Trump’s draconian executive order banning Muslims, brought thousands of airport protests around the country demanding we welcome immigrants.

Early last week and a day after his inauguration, I went to cover one of the biggest protests at the Minnesota state capitol. The Women’s March saw almost 100,000 people showd up to protest Trump misogynist rhetoric and attitude toward women. The morning was cold, misty and cloudy, little by little the crowd trickled down into the capital building. Women brought their families children, friends and angry signs.
